Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Tick'd is a dating and connection platform for people with Alpha Gal Syndrome. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Tick'd app on the web and on Google Play. By using Tick'd, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (handled securely by our platform provider). If you sign up with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Profile information: The details you choose to share on your profile — such as your name, age, pronouns, bio, photos, city, and approximate location coordinates, diet, sensitivities, interests, and prompt answers. Sensitivity and diet details are health-related information you volunteer so the community can plan safe dates.

Community content: Messages you send to matches and friends, friend and match connections, restaurant comments and reviews, and date safety reminders you create.

Approximate location: If you opt in, we store your approximate coordinates to match you with people nearby. This is only used for distance matching and is never shown to other users — only your city label is.

Payment information: If you purchase Premium, payments are processed by our payment provider (Base44 Payments, powered by Wix). We do not receive or store your full card number. We keep a record of your subscription status and order history.

Invite requests: If you request an invite for a friend, we process the email address you submit for the sole purpose of sending that one invitation email.

Usage information: We collect basic analytics about how the app is used (such as which features are popular) through our platform provider.

How we use your information

We use your information to: create and maintain your account; show your profile to other members; match you with people by sensitivity, interest, and (if you opt in) distance; deliver your chats, friends, and safety reminders; process Premium subscriptions; keep the community safe (moderation, abuse prevention); and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health-related sensitivity details for advertising.

How we share your information

Your profile content is visible to other members as designed — that is the point of a dating and community app. Your exact coordinates are never shared with anyone.

We share data only with service providers that help us run the app: our hosting and database platform (Base44), our payment provider (Base44 Payments, powered by Wix) for subscriptions, and Google for sign-in. Each provider processes your data only to deliver its service.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users, and we will never share your data beyond what is described here without telling you first.

Location data

Location sharing is optional. Your device will ask for permission before any location is captured, and you can decline and still use the app — you just won't appear in distance-filtered results. You can remove or change your saved location any time from your profile, or delete it entirely by clearing the Location field and saving.

Cookies and local storage

We use a small amount of browser local storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (such as your last opened tab), and enforce fair-use limits like daily like counts. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active so the app works for you. You can delete your account at any time from My Profile → Delete account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, matches, chats, friends, comments, and safety reminders, cancels any active subscription, and deletes your stored payment references. Some records may persist briefly in backups as described below.

Security

We protect your data with access controls and encrypted connections. Your messages and private records are restricted to your account and our administrators. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security — but we design the app so members only ever see what you choose to share publicly on your profile.

Your choices and rights

You can review and edit your profile information at any time from My Profile. You can control whether your location is stored, who you connect with, and who can contact you (including blocking and unmatching). Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data — you can exercise most of these yourself in the app, or contact us for help.

Children

Tick'd is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and if we learn we have, we will delete that account.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date below and, for significant changes, notify you in the app before the change takes effect.

Contact us

If you have questions about this policy or your data, contact us through the app, or via the support email address shown on our Google Play Store developer listing.
